1. Who is responsible

Pitwall is an unofficial fan website operated by an individual. For anything related to your data, contact wickh888@gmail.com.

2. What we collect

• Account data: email address, display name, preferred language, and your password stored only as a secure one-way hash.
• Photos and text you submit: the photo, caption and grandstand description. When you upload, we re-encode the image and remove embedded metadata such as camera details and GPS location.
• Activity: your votes and the photos you uploaded, with their review status.
• Technical data: your IP address and browser information, used briefly for security, rate limiting and error logs.
• Cookies: only a login session cookie and a language preference cookie. We use no advertising or analytics trackers.

3. Why we use it

• to create and secure your account and send verification and password-reset emails;
• to show your approved photos with your display name, and count votes;
• to review content and prevent spam, abuse and fraud;
• to answer your messages.

4. Who we share it with

We share data only with services that help run the site, and only as much as they need:

• our hosting provider, where the site and database run (Alibaba Cloud, Singapore region);
• our email provider, to deliver verification and reset emails;
• map tiles are loaded from OpenStreetMap servers, which receive your IP address when you view a map.

We may disclose data if required by law. We do not sell or rent personal data.

5. What is public

Your display name appears next to your approved photos. Votes are shown only as totals, never per person. Your email address is never shown publicly.

6. How long we keep it

We keep account data until you delete your account. Photos stay until you or a moderator removes them. Technical logs are kept only for a short time.

7. Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, or object to how we use it, by emailing wickh888@gmail.com. We will reply within 30 days. You may also have the right to complain to a data protection authority in your country.

8. Security

Passwords are hashed, access to admin functions is restricted, unpublished photos and original files are protected, and connections are encrypted with HTTPS once the site runs on its domain. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.

9. International processing

Our servers are located in Singapore. By using Pitwall, you understand that your data is processed there, and by service providers in other countries, under the safeguards described here.

10. Children

Pitwall is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version; significant changes will be announced on the site.
