1. About Pitwall

Pitwall is an unofficial, fan-run website about the Formula 1 calendar, circuits, results and the fan experience at races. It is operated by an individual.

Pitwall is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Formula 1, the FIA, any team, driver, circuit or sponsor. "Formula 1", "F1" and related marks belong to their owners and are used here only to describe the events the site is about.

2. Your account

You must be at least 16 years old (or the minimum age for consenting to online services in your country, if higher) to create an account.

Use a real email address you control, keep your password private, and use one account per person. You are responsible for activity on your account.

3. Photos must be your own original work

You may only upload photos that you took yourself. Each time you upload, you confirm that:

• you personally took the photo and own all rights to it;
• it is not copied, screenshotted or downloaded from TV broadcasts, streaming services, official Formula 1, team, circuit or media websites, news agencies, social media or anyone else;
• it does not contain other people's watermarks, artwork or other protected material as its main subject;
• it does not infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy or portrait rights, and anyone clearly identifiable in close-up has agreed to appear in it;
• it is a real photograph, not an AI-generated or heavily manipulated image presented as real.

4. What you may not upload or post

• material protected by someone else's copyright, including broadcast footage, press or agency photos, posters and artwork;
• political content of any kind: slogans, flags, symbols or materials of political parties, movements or campaigns, and political messages or commentary;
• content that promotes any organisation, company, religion, cause or group, including advertising, sponsorship promotion, recruitment, QR codes, links or contact details;
• content that is hateful, discriminatory, harassing, violent, extremist or that glorifies harm;
• nudity, sexual or otherwise inappropriate content;
• other people's personal information, such as readable licence plates, ticket barcodes, ID documents, or close-ups of children;
• spam, misleading content, or anything illegal where you or we are located.

These rules apply to photos, captions, grandstand descriptions and display names.

5. Licence you give us

You keep the copyright in your photos. By uploading, you give Pitwall a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display, resize, add a watermark to, and make your photo available on the site — including full-resolution downloads by registered users for their personal, non-commercial use — for as long as the photo remains on the site.

You can ask us to remove any of your photos at any time by emailing wickh888@gmail.com. Removal from the site ends this licence for future use.

Anyone who downloads photos may use them only for personal, non-commercial purposes (for example as a wallpaper or in a private album). Reselling, republishing, using them commercially or removing credit requires the photographer's permission.

6. Moderation and voting

Every photo is reviewed by a person before it is published. We may reject or remove any content, at any time and without giving a reason, if we believe it breaks these terms or creates a risk for the site. Repeated or serious violations lead to account suspension.

Fan votes are for fun. Each account may cast one vote per category per race. Using multiple accounts or automated tools to influence votes is not allowed.

7. Copyright and other complaints

If you believe content on Pitwall infringes your rights or breaks these rules, email wickh888@gmail.com with a link to the content, a short explanation and, for copyright claims, evidence that you own the work. We review complaints promptly and remove infringing content.

8. Free service

Pitwall is free to use. Registered users can download published photos in full resolution, without a watermark, for personal use.

If we ever introduce optional paid features, we will update these terms first and clearly show any price before you are asked to pay.

9. Race data

Calendar, results, standings and live timing come from third-party sources and may be delayed, incomplete or wrong. They are provided for information and entertainment only and must not be relied on for betting or any other financial decision.

10. Acceptable use

Do not try to get around watermarks or access controls; scrape or bulk-download the site; create accounts automatically; interfere with the site's security or operation; or use the site to break the law.

11. Disclaimer and liability

Pitwall is provided "as is". We work to keep it available and accurate but cannot promise that it will always be online, error-free or that content will never be lost.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of this free service. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be excluded.

12. Ending your use

You can stop using Pitwall at any time and ask us to delete your account by emailing wickh888@gmail.com. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

13. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change significantly affects users, we will announce it on the site before it applies. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
